Well I had done a lot of reading here regarding resorts for our honeymoon and we chose the Del Mar. This was our first time in Mexico and I can honestly say it was the best vacation of our life. There were a few negatives which I will touch on first and then get on to the good stuff. Biggest negative is the walking that you have to do from the front of the resort to the back of the resort. We were in room 1001 which was on the beach it was 20 some buildings between us and the front desk and boy is it a hike. There are trolleys and golf carts to take you back and forth but they were not around expecially if we were in a hurry to get to the front. Next time we go, we will definately be in the middle of the resort. Second negative is the entertainment. They were shows my ten year old could have put on and it showed. The food was excellent but a little bland. I suppose they are trying to appeal to the broadest amount of tastes that they can. Positives were the absoulutely beautiful grounds, awesome pools, extremely friendly staff, lots of pool bars and the just magical quality it gave to our honeymoon. We were only there for a few days and would like to go back next year with the kids for a longer stay. Also a warning: Mexican minutes are much much longer than american minutes. Carry a watch with as no one else on the resort does and there are no clocks to be found except in the lobby and that includes none in your room. I highly reccomend the Del mar and Apple vacations!
