color=#0000ff> Iberostar Message BoardFirst let me say do not pay the extra fee for a junior suite. You will most likely be upgraded for no charge. We had a party of 15 and I paid for ocean view junior suite and the rest of the guests paid for standard rooms and all got upgraded for free. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is huge and a bit cool but you get used to it. Past reviews stated if you tip the maids they will make things out of the towels and if requested they will put special things in your cooler like milk for the kids. This is not the case on more than 1 occassion we tipped the maids for extra towels and milk for the baby and each time they took the money and never gave us anything in return and we wrote the note in Spanish and English. The other members in my party did not tip and still recieved the special towels made into swans etc. Next the food. Japanese was great all the others were HORRIBLE! And everyone else seemed to agree so don't feel bad if you don't get a reservation. Also be aware that you need to stay 7 nights in order to get to eat at the speciality restuarants 3 times. The nightly buffet which you don't need a reservation is great. Breakfast is also good. Drinks were as previous readers stated not strong but if you tell the bartender to make it stronger they will. The disco was fun played alot of good music and gets very crowed around midnight. The beach is beautiful with tons of chairs although they fill up fast so get down there earlier. Be careful with the "free" nonmotorized water sports. They charged us for the use of the hobie cats 10$ per person otherwise you have to do an hour lesson and pay for the insurance. If you don't make it on the bus to town because it was full don't take a taxi. You will never find where you need to go to get back on the hotel bus. This was a nightmare! We walked all over then finally decided to take a taxi back but they end up dropping you off on the side of the road since they claim they are not allowed to drive into the resort. Spa treatments were ok although most of the people in my party who had a pedicure did not like it. They said its nothing like in the states. Loved the Paradise treatment if you tip really good they will braid your hair. The workout facility looked nice and was always packed. My husband loved the steamroom. They also have a hot and cold jacuzzi there. Speaking of jacuzzi. All of the jacuzzi's (at the pool)were not working and were freezing. Which was a real bummer it would have been nice at night. Don't bring too many clothes. Everyone eats in there beach attire with shorts for breakfast and lunch. For dinner if you go to the buffet you can wear shorts. The gazebo is gorgeous which is where we chose to renew our vows and the minister was great he even spoke English which was different from when we got married in cozomel the minister didn't speak a lick of english. Be prepared to do alot of walking especially if you get the oceanview room. Although the trolly comes every 10 mins or so. All in all having been to alot of all inclusives it was very nice but it is very unlikely we would stay again.
