Iberostar Message Board

My family and I (11 people total) were at the Del Mar from May 25th through June 1st and what an exceptional vacation we had. From the pristine grounds to the food and drink to the staff of the Start friends entertainment. Roberto from the swim up bar and Chris the MC at the pool were both just so entertaining. My children loved the activies and the ice cream bar. Be very very careful because all of the reviews indicating how slippery the grounds are around the pool are true. They do have staff walking around with a broom of some sort pushing away the water off of the ground but it is still slippery. Try to get up early in the morning to reserve one of the large huts around the pool - it will keep you shaded and it is great for little kids who can't be in the sun too long. The food was abundant and great. We ate at the specialty restaurants- Steakhouse twice which was great and the Italian restuarant which I can't say enough about. My nephew ate at the Japanese restaurant and he loved it there too.

The only drawback was during the week of our stay the humidity was very high which caused it to be too hot in the evening at the restaurants. All we did was sweat!

The drinks are not very strong, by the second day we were asking the bar tender to make us a double. Also by the second day, Roberto the bar tender at the swim up bar knew who we were and what we were drinking. He was very accommodating. He even ran over to ice cream bar to get my daughter a lemonade - we miss your bright smile Roberto!

The entertainment was so much fun. The pool games were hysterical and fun to watch. Chris (MC) was such a great dancer and very impressive to watch. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the end of the week that we got to know him better and by then it was time to leave. We miss you too Chris!

Overal, I was extremely impressed with this resort and wouldn't hesitate to return tomorrow.

DelMar I can't say enough about you!

Oh and yeah - don't forget to join in the fun of the happy dance - you won't regret it. We haven't stopped singing it since we've been back.
