Okay, I do not know why we had such a horrible time when it sounds like everyone else had a lot of fun! My fiance and I travel all of the time. In the past year, we have been to Club Med Turks and Caicos, Cabo San Lucas, and sailing the BVI's. It is sad to say, that we spent the most money at this resort and had the absolute WORST time!

From the very start, our trip was poor. We checked in and told the desk that we were there to plan our wedding and had plans to meet with the wedding coordinator. Our first room was in building 20 with 2 double beds and smelled like cigarette smoke. As we approached our room, 4 hotel employees were sitting about talking...don't ask me why they were just hanging out in that room?!

We were moved to a better room, but not without having to sit outside waiting for the bell boy to bring us our new room key for 45 minutes. When he did show up, our bags weren't with him. He drove us back to the Beach lobby where we checked in and our bags were still sitting there! Over and hour after we had checked in!

We went to meet with the wedding coordinator on Friday. We had sent her a confirmation e mail and they still showed up almost an hour late! Later that night, after eating only at the restaurants at the resort, my fiance got violently ill. He was throwing up and had diarrhea every 30 minutes or so. Twice during our stay (one time Saturday afternoon, and for about 3 hours early Sunday morning) the toilets did not flush. When we explained our displeasure to the manager, he apologized and suggested we call the resort doctor.

On Sunday morning, my fiance was hooked up to an IV for 3 hours to replenish fluids and give him antibiotics to kill the bacteria in his intestines. We left spending $200.00 more with the doctor telling him not to eat anything until Monday morning. We left Monday afternoon.

It sucked that for 3 days, I had to eat by myself. We paid for an all inclusive resort and my fiance did not eat or drink anything for 3 out of the 4 days of our vacation. Several times I saw workers at the pool bar drop things on the floor and just simple rinse off the tongs or blender top.

Our trip ended just as it had started. We called the bell boys to pick up our bags at 12noon and deliver them to the lobby. At 1:30, they still weren't there. We even went out of our way to tip extra to almost everybody and were still treated with such disregard.

I have composed a letter to the public relations nearly 2 weeks ago and still have not received any acknowledgment.

Needless to say, we are no longer holding our wedding there. It would be idiotic to create that much revenue for a company that holds customer satisfaction in such low regard.

So, good luck to anyone who wants to go to this Iberostar resort. There are many many many better places out there where you can get a far better deal! We have spent more time in Kauai, spent less money, and had a better time! Please don't expect much from this very average resort!

P.S. I live at the beach and would recommend anyone coming here versus wasting their money at said resort!
