We just got back from a week at the Pariaso del Mar. Our only negative - it rained for 3 days. Guess we need to do our homework into the rainy season next time. All in all, it was a great vacation. We have 2 boys, ages 8 and 10.
RESORT: We've been to Aruba, St. Martin and now Mexico. This was by far the most beautiful resort we've been to. It's immaculate - the staff is always cleaning and working on the grounds. It's absolutely beautiful.
ROOMS: Nice, hotel-like and very clean. Fully stocked mini-bar all the time, great towel creatures every day from our maid, Antonia - she was wonderful. Even made the couch into a bed for our son every day. They loved seeing what towel creature we'd have every day we got back from the beach. If you are looking for the Ritz, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a comfortable, clean room to sleep in after a long day, it's perfect.
FOOD: Specialty restaurants are wonderful. We did Mexican, Japanese and the Steakhouse - all were top notch. The buffet was great if you are willing to try new things. Great fish, mexican and ethnic dishes. They always had burgers, dogs, pasta and wood-fired pizza for those less adventurous. Fresh fruits and wonderful juices were always available.
SERVICE: Fantastic! Everyone was great and super friendly. Yes, we tipped. The staff were very gracious when you did. We figured - I would tip if I were at home for good service, so why not here? Just because it's all inclusive doesn't mean the staff gets paid big bucks. Did you know the bartenders get $5/day plus tips? That's it. Giving a $5 tip goes a long way to how hospitable one is to the next. Just an idea - there were certainly a lot of people who didn't bother and if it were me, I'd cater to those who tipped me, too!
