Iberostar Message Board

Twelve of us went on our first family vacation. We were able to all get rooms in the same building, which made it convienent to meet.
The rooms are very nice. I really liked the courtyard in each of the room's buildings. This courtyard is where you will find your conceirge. Very convienent to ask questions and book the alacart resturants.
This is my third Iberostar vacation in Mexico. The Lindo is very beautiful. Food seemed to be about the same quality as the Del Mar next door.

The Lindo seemed less of a party atmospere than the Del Mar. The Lindo has more of an older crowd from what I observed. We always found a lounger at the pool. At the wave pool bar they have a juice machine that will make unique juices with veggies if you're into that kind of thing.

The pool swim up bar never seemed very crowded. We always found a seat.

We ate at the steak, Canjun resturants. Both were very good. As everyone says the coconut shrimp at the Cajun are great. They are on the salad bar there. You could make a meal with just that.

My Dad was in heaven every day with the icecream parlour. My favorite is always the coconut icecream since we don't have that here in the states.

A couple things that was a bit disappointing is that the lobby bar smells very mildewy. It is closed in, so it probably doesn't get any venilation. They have an aquarium from floor to ceiling which may be the culprit.
The del mar's lobby bar is open air and doesn't smell like that at all.

Also, the Lindo's buffet for dinner isn't very big, so we went to the Del mar's dinner buffet which is huge. I would think that the Lindo would have a bigger one for dinner since it is rated a golden 6 in the tour brochures and Del Mar is a 5 1/2. Lindo also doesn't have its own disco. Del mar has that too.

I found that the Lindo was a bit easier to get around in. It was easier to find where you were going. It has less foliage than the Del Mar, but still plenty of landscaping and flowers.

My neice got bit by mosquitos at night by the Del Mar side, I did not. So if mosquitos like to bite you, you might bring some spray for night time.
They did hang out by the beach at night too one night.

I would be happy to return to the Lindo or the Del Mar. Iberostar's are wonderful whichever you choose.
