Iberostar Message Board

We stayed at the Iberostar Lindo from December 25- Jan 2. I have stayed at bonafide 5 star resorts as decribed as 5 star by both AAA, and Mobil. If you will do some research you will find that these types of places are far and few between in the entire world. In fact, in all of Mexico the only 2 five star resorts are the Fiesta American Coral Beach and the Ritz Carlton in Cancan. You will also find that hotels and restaurants that offer 5 star service are rather small in the number of people they service and the number of meals served per day. There is nary a five star resort that serves 1000 plus meals per day. That being said, the Iberostar Lindo is not by any stretch of the imagination a 5 star resort. However, as an all inclusive resort and the price paid for what you get, I have to say that it is an excellent value. The grounds, cleanliness, and rooms of this property are of a very high caliber. The food as you would expect is ok, given the volume of meals served I would say they do a nice job of food preparation, and I felt the food was at least as good as the food we ate Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos, which I will add was a lot more expensive. Ergo, if you are looking for a nice beach, relaxing atmosphere, and a good all inclusive vacation rest assured your money will be very well spent here. However, if you want a real 5 star experience be ready to spend at least 2 to 3 times as much. As you read these boards clearly there will be those people whose expectations were not reached at this resort, especially when some travel agencies rate this as a 5 star resort or 6 apple property. If you approach your experience there with reasonable expectation you will be like most folks, happy with your trip.
