color=#0000ff>   Iberostar Message BoardWe stayed at the Iberostar Lindo the week of April 16th and this truly is a amazing resort. All the good reviews are accurate so I will try to add things I have not read about.

We arrived about 11:30 on Saturday and the first thing we did after finding our room was get our dinner reservations from the concierge. We were able to get all 6:30 seatings but I don't know if it was because we saw him early or because we gave him money with a list of the restaurants we wanted to try. Our concierge not only helped us with various things during the week but then followed up with us to make sure it was taken care of. (I asked for more Diet Coke).

Our room was so great I didn't even mind not having a pool view. The patio faced the buildings from the Pariso Beach and a walkway that some people used as well as peacocks that roamed the grounds. I enjoyed sitting on the patio because it was tucked far enough away that no one even noticed us sitting there. Let me warn you though, if you completely shut the patio door it will automaticaly lock behind you as we learned the hard way. My husband and I went out to enjoy the beautiful morning and couldn't get back in. Good thing we were on the first floor, he had to jump over the rail and find a worker who walkied for help. It was really quite funny.

If you want ot go shopping I would recommend Cozumel over Playa del Carmen. I thought prices were a little less and the shops were nicer. You can get ferry tickets across from Senior Frogs , the yellow ferry is less money than the blue at $32.00 round trip. We also took a taxi back twice to the resort. Each time we negotiated the price before hand and both started at $18.00 but took $15.00.

The one trip to Cozumel was to go to the Iberostar there to snorkel which I would not do again. I was not impressed at all with the resort and between the ferry, taxi, ($20.00 both ways) and $36.00 to snorkel it wound have been cheaper to book it from the resort. I know I'm talking a lot about prices but these were things I wanted to know in planing our trip just to figure how much cash to bring. They really do prefer cash and many places like the ferries and dive shops don't take credit cards.

We have traveled to Hawaii, Jamaica, Bermuda, St. Thomas, and in Mexico have stayed at the Moon Palace and Riu Palace. It seems we are drawn back to this area not only because of the high standards of the resorts but because the people have a genuine friendliness we have not found anywhere else. Other years after our trip we were ready to find a new resort to experience but after staying at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo we have finally found our paradise!
