color=#0000ff>   Iberostar Message BoardMy husband and I (Carole and Danny from Preston) stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, Riviera Maya from 19/6 to 3/7/05. This was our 5th time in Mexico, the previous 4 times we stayed in Cancun - twice at the Moon Palace (which we thought would be hard to beat) The Lindo was magnificent and you can use the other three adjoining hotels - Paraiso Maya, Paraiso Del Mar and Paraiso Beach. Being in the Lindo meant we could eat and drink in any one of them, as you can if you are resident in the Maya, but if you are staying in the Del Mar or the Beach then you cannot use all the facilities in the Lindo and Maya.
The rooms are lovely, and the maid is very artistic with the towel designs each day. There are over a dozen speciality restaurants (which you have to make reservations for) including Chinese, Japonese, Steakhouse, Cajun,French, Italian, Brazilian and Mexican. The service is second to none. You can use the ordinary buffet restaurants also.
There is a varied entertainments programme during the day, and shows every evening. They cater well for the kiddies too and they are looked after by a team of dedicated young staff. The grounds are unbelievable, and well tendered - there are peacocks wandering around, parrots in the trees, pink flamingo's on the waters. The staff are very nice, Eduardo in the lobby bar was fab - he would pick up phrases from different nationalities and then repeat them. My husband is from Glasgow and couldn't believe what he was hearing when Eduardo said something Scottish with his Mexican accent.
There were swimming pools everywhere, and a wave pool, and a lazy river. We did not book any trips this time, but i definitely recommend Xcaret (or Xel Ha if you are into snorkelling) The Reps night out on the Monday was good according to the young couples, and the Lobster dinner on the Captain Hook galleon.
There is also a disco/nightclub in the Del Mar - nice and cool after being in their lobby bar which is all open and therefore not air-conditioned.
What else can I say . . . . book today as it will be booked up fast, theres no doubt. Don't forget your mosquito repellant (but I think they're immune to it, they get us every time).
