color=#0000ff> Iberostar Message BoardThis was our second trip to an Iberostar hotel (last Feb. to Costa Dorada in Puerta Plata) It was exactly what I wanted, an absolutely beautiful beach, warm sunshine, plenty of bar treats and a great rest. I did not participate in any of the activities so I can not comment.
The hotel is spotless and well maintained. The common areas are spacious and beautiful. We ate breakfast everyday in the main buffet restaurant (omelets to order, etc.) All lunches we ate at the smaller lunch buffet closest to the beach (it becomes the steak restaurnat at night) Four days they had special lunches prepared at the beach (fidelu, sp? which is Italian paella, bbq with all dif't kinds of kebabs, paella, and hamburgers and hot dogs) We especially liked the kebabs. We only ate one dinner at the amin buffet and all other meals at the specialty restaurants. We liked the Mexican, Japanese and goumet (lobster). The steakhouse was okay, service wasn't the best. In general the food is better than good and my only complaint is thee is no decaf coffee other than instant and the breads, although they look great aren't (no one can compare to the bread and pastries at Club Med)
We had a first floor room in building 4, closest to the beach. We e-mailed ahead of time requesting building 4, top floor.
I would defintiely consider the Iberostar again.
We flew out of Newark on an Apple charter. The USA3000 flights were just great, on time, comfy, clean and friendly.
