We decided to visit this hotel because of the excellent feedback from other reviewers so it would be wrong of me not to give some advice to others who have yet to decide if this Hotel is for them or not. Firstly, please note there is a $30 charge per person for anyone visiting the Country, $10 for your arrival and $20 for departures- Babies included. In addition, you are charged $10 per kilo if you exceed your baggage allowance and believe me they weigh each case and charge where appropriate. They dont tell you this when you leave the U.K so beware, you have been warned.

On a more positive note, the Hotel is first class, we were in block 6 which was O.K in terms of location. It was mentioned by another, more experienced, traveller that he paid $140 for an upgrade to a suite, this will depend on how busy the Hotel is but its worth a try. The suites are nearer the beach as you would expect.

Staff are very friendly, efficient and always busy cleaning every where you go. Gardeners are working everywhere and it shows as the grounds are nothing short of spectacular.

The room was O.K a wee bit on the small side if you are travelling with 2 kids but no complaints here. The American "walk in" shower was a welcome site after a hard day at the pool/beach. Remember and tip the maid upon arrival as she will make that extra effort to top up your fridge with beer and soft drinks [ no spirits] she will also leave flower petals and make shapes using your towels. Beach towels are supplied.

Food is fantastic. Believe it or not we preferred the Buffet, I know other reviewers preferred the specialist restaurants, including the Mexican, Japanese and Steakhouse. We didn't try the colonial. The presentation of the food is very impressive. The chefs are very entertaining and will occasionally break into song. You can book specialised restaurants most days although you are technically restricted to 3 a week. You are guaranteed to put weight on during your stay, if it isn't the food it will be the cocktails which are in plentiful supply. Nice touches at the Buffet restaurant and entertainment complex when staff are on hand to give you a champagne cocktail or another freshly made concoction as you enter...yummy!!!

Entertainment...I was not looking forward to the entertainment based on other reviewers and in this regard they have either had a clear out of poor performers or the negative feedback is based on West End/ Broadway shows. We thought the entertainment staff were all very professional with a fantastic Lion King show on the last night using the kids as support, the costumes used in all the shows would be hard to beat. They change the shows every 15th day so you will never see the same show twice.

I could go on and on so If you require any specific information then feel free to contact me...Oh and by the way, if you have kids, young kids, don't go on the speedboat excursion as our kids will never be the same again. Water was very choppy, boats are very fast, not recommended. Other than that it was great value for money and a great adrenalin rush. If you remember Miami vice then you will know where I am coming from.

The holiday was worth every penny. Enjoy your holiday!
