color=#0000ff> Iberostar Message BoardYou can revisit paradise! I just did! After a wonderful trip in June I decided to revisit the wonderful Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus. Paradise got even better! Hard to believe but true! Everything was even better than it was when I was there in June.
Check in / Room Assignment: Check in was easy as there were on two other people from Baltimore checking in when I was. Hi to Deb and Dennis!
My room was not ready so I changed in the changing room near the lobby and headed to the beach. The Paella party going on with the Starfriends band with live music and entertainment! The Starfriends ROCK!
The Paella party and sangria were great! Walking back to the lobby I noticed the room they were going to assign me was ground level. As a woman traveling alone I prefer 2nd floor with a balcony. I went back to the lobby to let them know and they immediately changed my room to 7104 a corner room with a wrap around balcony! YES! It was gorgeous inside and the view was gorgeous also gardens and pool!
The front desk and reception crew really do their very best to make you feel at home and special. They work long and hard hours and were always there when I need them. Like when I locked my room key in the room. YIKES talk about feeling stupid. But to them …No Promblemo! Always pleasant and happy to help!
Beach and Pool: The beach is on of the nicest, cleanest, best beaches I have been to. Since it is on the Caribbean side of the Island the water is more gentle and less choppy so very pleasant to float and swim in. Also they have the great artificial reef right in front about 100-200 feet off the beach and you can snorkel there and see the most amazing fish! Be sure to bring some rolls from breakfast in a zip lock bag, you will attract the most amazing fish it is such fun!
Also don’t forget at the beach to visit the El Faro Beach Bar! YUM! Great drinks after a swim or lolling on the beach all day! It doesn’t get better than that. Great staff, they really know how to take care of you!
At the pool there is the great “Pool Bar” what a great invention! The pool is gorgeous with a Jacuzzi in the middle, get a drink and wade over and just check out the good life! What a way to life! There are plenty of seat at the pool and the beach and the crew does a great job keeping both clean and safe.
At the pool and the beach you will find the Starfriends always around with something fun to do! Always happy and a big smile on their face! They stop and chat even if you don’t want to join in they want to make sure you are happy! And you will be happy! I was!
Guest Services and Reservations for Restaurants: A special thanks to all the great folks at Guest Services! They do a great job at the lobby dealing with all of the guests making reservations for the different Restaurants that are available. Plus they take phone calls from guest with any inquiries. They all speak several languages and I never had a problem communicating with them I speak English and was comfortable with our conversations.
The restaurants I went to this time were the Japanese, Gourmet and Mexican and all three restaurants were great.
Japanese Restaurant is a real show as the Chef cooks right in front of you on the flat grill, what a great show. But let me warn you it does get warm even with the overhead air vent to take it away. So drink the icewater they keep refilling! The choices are many and delicious! I had the shrimp and octopus, YUM! They offer both chopstick and utensils so if you are like me and cannot master the sticks you will do just fine! The food is good here and the service is very attentive.
Mexican was fun! Great appetizer bar to choose from I love seafood and they had a great selection. There are lots of great choices for dinner, so everyone should be satisfied. Great food and service here also.
My favorite is the Colonial also known as Gourmet. I love this place it is so elegant and the service there is just as elegant. I felt like I was having dinner at a 5 star restaurant! Reminded me of LeBec Fin in Philly! Kudos for the staff of servers and the MatreD. Great service and Fabulous Food! This one is definitely my favorite!
Entertainment and shows:
The shows that I got to see were fun and very good. The Black Light Show is a must see! Edu and his team did a really great job. Those Starfriends work hard all day on the beach and by the pool and still work hard at night putting on the shows! WOW! Great job Guys and Gals! Keep up the good work!
Snorkel Excursions: Some of my favorite time is spent on the Snorkel Excursions provided by Dressel Divers right on the beach of the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus. Chris and Patrick and all of their great crew do a fantastic job! The boat and their crew with the special bartender and all around great girl Ms. Josie work hard to make sure you have a great time.
I must mention Enrique who guides the snorkel patrons to the best places and finds the most amazing sea creatures to share with us. And after we have all seen the treasures of the sea, he gently dives back down and places them unharmed and says a little prayer as he come back to us and guides us to even more fantastic things! He is blessed and very special! Enrique you ROCK!
Can you tell I had a good time! Can you tell I will be going back! Not soon enough but I will be returning.
The Staff, the service, the whole package is one that is excellent.
