Iberostar Message Board
Returned January 31st after a week stay at the Iberostar Costa Dorada Resort. The day before we were to leave, there was an article in our Sunday paper talking about the outbreak of a flu like illness. We didn’t hear of anyone being sick at the Iberostar, although visitors at other resorts had some horror stories. All-in-all we had a great time. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The Apple Vacations rep., Michael, gave us a brief, but informative welcome overview of the resort and side trips. Every employee is willing to go the extra mile to make the guest’s stay as enjoyable as possible. Our room was in building #1 on the second floor, overlooking the pool. The room was kept spotless and the mini bar was restocked daily. The grounds crew does a wonderful job. The buffet restaurant food was very good. The selection of food offered for any meal is almost unbelievable. There is something for everyone’s appetite. The 3 specialty restaurants are pretty good too. The specialty restaurants require reservations, and men are required to wear long pants. We ate lunch each day at the snack bar. The bartender’s at the Lobby Bar make a good drink. A short walk on the beach in either direction will take you to the beach venders. The venders to the east have a larger selection of goods and seemed more willing to haggle. Our flight was to depart at 6:00 am Monday, but because they didn’t have anyone to fly the plane we didn’t leave until 10:00 am. The weather was really lousy, overcast, rainy and windy. During the day the temperature was somewhere in the 70’s. We probably saw the sun a total of 8 hours. Still beats the heck out of shoveling snow. Of course the sky was clear and sunny on the day we left.
