color=#0000ff>   Iberostar Message BoardI am giving my review very much thought. We returned from the Maya on Sunday from a week long stay.
The Pros... The room is gorgeous best one in Riviera Maya
The hotel is immaculate
Pool side drink service
Helpful employees
The beach is beautiful/better than the Tucan is now.
Never a problem finding a place to sit for the day.
The specialty restaurants
Now for the Cons..
The FOOD.. the buffets are never changing, always the same food. By the last couple of days I couldn't even go into a buffet the smell would make me sick. For such a beautiful expensive resort, they should have more of a variety of food. The dinner buffets were not an issue, but for lunch and breakfast. Enough is enough.
Getting into Sp restaurants.. Make sure you do this immediately or else you are out of luck. Very hard to get a time before 8:30pm. With kids, this is not an option.
Walking... I did not have a problem with this, because I like to walk, but people with small children or elderly will have alot of trouble. I do recommend hailing a golf cart, they do this by simply asking the men up front of the resort they will give you a ride to your destination.
The POOL as stated in many reviews the pools are very cold.
You do get used to them, but man that first dip sucks.

To sum up this resort, Beach is the best along with rooms and Sp restaurant food. There are alot of cons maybe only a seasoned traveler would notice.
If I didn't get sick the last couple of days my review would have been better. There were alot of people that had tummy trouble while we were there. I do not drink so this was not a factor, nor did I drink the water, I only had food from this resort. And it was at the end of my trip, I am still recovering now 4 days after I got home.
