color=#0000ff>   Iberostar Message BoardLeft on Sunday the 24th of July Via AA Family of 4. Wife, me and two kids ages, 7 & 9.
Was transported to IB Maya Via Cancun Valet.
Cost was $105.00 (round trip) Private, AC, and clean van with a professional driver. Well worth it!
IB MAYA:
If you like grand this is your place! It’s HUGE! Very opulent. It took some time to figure out how to get around because it so large. I didn’t know till we got there that Del Mar, Lindo and Maya are all in the same property. (In case there are others out there like me.) We were upgraded to a superior room. Again, very opulent, well appointed, and very clean. The rooms must be sound proofed? Just a guess.

Services and staff are all top notch and very friendly. Bring lots of $1.00 bills for tipping

Okay on to the food…. Pretty good. (Scale from 1 to 5.1 is bad 5 is great)
Times to eat. I would say to eat early 6:30 seating was best for us. This gives you time to eat and get front row seating for the show at Lindo (more on that later).

Breakfast at Lindo was the best by a long shot! I’d give it a 5!
Lunch was okay. We ate so much for breakfast this was not really an issue!

We had Italian the first night I’d give it a 4
Japanese 2nd night. I’d give it a 4.5
Steak the 3rd. I’d give it 4.5
Mediterranean 4th night. This was a 5!
Steak the 5th. This time it was a 4.

Japanese was a huge hit with the kids, probably because of the hibachi grill and seeing the chef prepare the food. If you want to eat there the times are either 6:30 or 9:00PM.

All the pools are nice. The pool that has the swim up bar was a bit dirty (its also the largest). My guess was that people are spilling their drinks into it and may be using it as a bathroom!
The other pools are very clean. Lazy River was nice as was the wave pool that goes into operation on the hour for 20 mins.

The drinks…..if you go to the swim up bar or the one by the ocean they are at best, okay. It’s all cheap liquor (no name brands found here) About a 2.5 on the scale. Now if you go to either lobby bar (Maya or Lindo) you’ll get top shelf liquor. Maya bar is once again huge. It’s in the pyramid. If you go into the Lindo bar its smoky but cozy.

The ocean was clean and very pretty. It must have been gorgeous before the hurricane. Lots of things to do. We jet skied with the kids and had a ball. You can sail or get on a banana boat. They also have parasailing.

The shows at Lindo were great. Mostly kid friendly. Some adult situations that would most likely go over most kids at ages 10 and under. They did mine. Lots of audience participation, which really made it fun! They had a professional MC and a dance / theatrical team. It starts around 9:00PM and goes till 10:30 or so followed by a band that plays well into the night. We left around 11:30 or so.

On to Xel Ha. One word on this one….DON’T!
Way way over crowed Because X Ceret is closed…. they all flock to Xel Ha. We waited in line for everything. There was 5500 people the day we went. Wait till both parks are open. It was no fun and I love to swim and snorkel.

All in all if you like grandness then go to Maya. If you prefer a bit more cozy then a stay in Lindo would be more in line.

According to the local papers the hotel occupancy was at 75%. We waited just a bit for dinner and breakfast. I can’t image what its like at 100%...WOW!

I would give IB MAYA and LINDO a 5 plus! Go and have a ball…we did!
