We were at the Lindo 8/8-8/14.
There were 2 restaurants closed when we were there, the Chinese and I'm not sure of the other one. I guess they had a gourmet type menu in the conference center to make up for the closed places. We ate at the Seafood (La Marina), Mexican, and Italian. All were good.
The only smell was when you cross the path through the mangrove to head to the beach. Kind of like rotten eggs, not overpowering at any time though.
The beach was nice, still some seaweed but not aweful by any means. We were in the ocean 2 days during our trip, no jellyfish sightings but there was still quite a bit of seaweed, again not aweful. Just not as clear as we expected.
If you want a palapla (straw umbrella things) get there early! We went a little before 7AM and there were very few left. Since there was only 2 of us we only sat on one side so someone else could still sit on the otherside. Primo pool seats have to be snagged by 8AM. The chair wars are nuts. We would set our stuff down, go grab a quick bite and go back and people watch. Some people had stuff on chairs before we got to the pool wouldn't show up until 11AM. Just Nuts!!
Enjoy your trip! We loved our trip and had no major complaints.
PS...be sure to have a Dirty Monkey and Rum Punch.
